Seeking Preschool Teacher & Part-time Learning Consultant

We are currently looking for friendly and competent Teacher/ Assistant to join our team. If you are a compassionate and self-motivated individual with a specific interest in education, we urge you to apply! In this position, you will be responsible for supervising students, working with small groups, preparing lesson material, and maintaining classroom tidiness.

The successful candidate must enjoy working with children and be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment. To excel in this role, you must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of classroom activities and teaching methods.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Preschool Team to monitor the class schedule.
• Assist team with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment.
• Revise lesson material with students individually or in small groups.
• Ensure the classroom environment is safe and clean.
• Supervisory duties
• Oversee students during non-classroom times including in-between classes, during lunch, and on field excursions.
• Collaborate with team to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions.
• Document student progress and communicate with parents to keep them informed.
• Help team to create lesson plans.
• Comply with state, school, and class rules and regulations.
• Attend all training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a teaching assistant or similar role is preferred.
• Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices.
• Must have a compassionate and positive attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and presentation abilities.
• Practicing Catholic is preferred.

Learning consultants in St. Francis Borgia Grade School support the whole-child by focusing on the development of our students through high quality innovative intervention and progress monitoring. This educator also maintains data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress during interventions.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use identified scientific, research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student difficulties in reading, writing and/or mathematics.
• Differentiates learning plans for students based on their unique learning profiles so that students of all ability levels are engaged and challenged.
• Uses collected assessment data to modify short and long-term plans in order to target areas for improvement.
• Provide data to the school teams and participate in decisions about student progress.
• Submits up-to-date intervention plans to the administrator.
• Adjusts course as necessary to maximize effectiveness of interventions after a cycle of data collection, reflection, and learning.
• Facilitates, manages, and coordinates student practice through meaningful learning experiences.
• Checks for academic understanding frequently and provides feedback in order to ensure student learning.
• Communicates high expectations for character and behavior by teaching, practicing, and reinforcing rules and expectations.
• Collaborates with content and grade-level teachers to ensure alignment and consistency of student academic habits, traits, and mindsets.
• Utilize tracking system to maintain lists of students participating in interventions and learning plans 
• Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines and honoring the schedules and working styles of other colleagues.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by the principal.
• Creates a welcoming environment to instill values of respect and kindness so That students feel comfortable and supported enough to take risks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field preferred.  Practicing Catholic preferred
